Christian Fong pushes putting IPERS at risk (Fong Campaign)
Iowans who are counting on IPERS to provide a stable retirement got a major shock from GOP candidate for Governor Christian Fong. It didn’t get much attention, but it’s important for Iowans to know Fong’s position. He wants the public pension system to resemble the private sector! In a time when greedy corporate executives have plundered and cut company pensions, or sat by and watched as stock values fell to near-zero, Fong thinks the private sector has a great model for funding IPERS.
Someone needs to tell Fong the private sector is no model for public employee pensions, and that he should keep his hands off IPERS!
