Iowa Knows Better

Rod Roberts

Rob Roberts is a five term member of the state house as well as a dedicated Christian who has done a lot of great things for his community. But, his campaign is based on a lot of the same talking points that the rest of the Republican field is using.

Hardly a "fresh face"; Roberts opposed the most ambitious and comprehensive program to help Iowa's working families.  By voting against I-JOBS, Roberts said:[1]

  • 'No' to Iowans hit by last summer’s floods and tornadoes.
  • 'No' to Iowa’s veterans when it came to rebuilding our aging Veteran’s Home.
  • 'No' to fixing Iowa’s aging road and bridge system.
  • 'No' to Iowans looking for jobs in these tough economic times.

Roberts failed to even vote on a number of important issues:

  • Absent from voting to provide more help for the unemployed and small businesses in tough economic times.[2]
  • Absent from voting for more funding for preventing elder abuse and child care.[3]
  • Absent from voting to help Iowans who need college aid, including Iowa’s national guard.[4]

Roberts seems to believe that saying 'no' or being absent is enough for the voters of the state. Iowans know better.
