Iowa Knows Better

Chris Rants

Throughout the past 15 years, Rants has continually said "NO" to Governor Vilsack and now to Governor Culver. But, the latest group to say NO to Rants was his own party. The Republicans voted him out of his leadership position after he helped lose control of the State House and leave the campaign committee facing significant debt.[1]

Time and time again, Rants’ position in the Iowa House was to simply say “No” without offering solutions of his own. Rants opposed the most ambitious and comprehensive program to help Iowa’s working families.[2] By voting against I-JOBS, Rants said:

  • 'No' to Iowans hit by last summer’s floods and tornadoes.
  • 'No' to Iowa’s veterans when it came to rebuilding our aging Veteran’s Home.
  • 'No' to fixing Iowa’s aging road and bridge system.
  • 'No' to Iowans looking for jobs in these tough economic times.

He also continued to say NO to Iowans over and over:

  • 'No' to providing more help for the unemployed and small businesses in tough economic times.[3]
  • 'No' to protecting Iowa's water quality and conserving our soil.[4]
  • 'No' to more funding for preventing elder abuse and child care.[5]
  • 'No' to helping Iowans who need college aid, including Iowa’s national guard.[6]

Christopher Rants is trying to claw his way back to the top, but he's not going to do it without offering solutions for Iowans in these tough times.
